UntitledInvisible Invaders: The Unstoppable Threat of RNA Viruses to Global Health Item
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: RNA viruses, including influenza and Ebola, are highly adaptive pathogens that pose significant threats to global health. Their emergence is driven by genetic mutations, environmental changes, and zoonotic transmission. Influenza causes seasonal respiratory illnesses with severe complications in high-risk groups, while Ebola triggers lethal outbreaks through immune system disruption and systemic damage. Both viruses disproportionately affect vulnerable populations, such as pregnant women and young children, highlighting the need for vigilant surveillance, effective vaccination strategies, and targeted interventions to mitigate their impact.
