Abstract: Marriage is often viewed as a sacred bond built on trust, mutual respect, and love. But when this bond turns into a weapon of harm, oppression, and cruelty, it no longer serves its true purpose. One of the ugliest truths about marriage, particularly in countries like India, is the silent suffering of many women at the hands of their husbands or in-laws. The institution that promises companionship and support sometimes turns into a battleground for control, abuse, and dominance.
