Abstract: This report provides a comprehensive analysis of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban, a flagship housing scheme in India. It delves into the scheme’s inception, objectives, and its impact on urban housing development. The report discusses the progress made in achieving the ‘Housing for All’ goal, the challenges faced, and the strategies employed to provide affordable housing to urban citizens. It also examines the policy framework, financial aspects, and future prospects of the PMAY Urban program, shedding light on its role in transforming urban housing in India. The time when the scheme was introduced the main aim was an addressing the housing needs of specific groups such as economically weaker sections, low-income groups, and poor population of urban cities. As 140.76 crore is the Indian population but 1773040 is the homeless population of Indian and through this scheme 118.9 lakhs people get their shelter to live in. Hence government has done a very great initiative to grow well with dignity of all.
