The song Qing Qing Xiao Shu (Green Green Campus Trees) is associated with the Japanese graduation song Aogeba Tōtoshi Many Taiwanese graduation songs originate from Japanese melodies. For example, Auld Lang Syne has multiple Chinese adaptations. Likewise, the lyrics of Qing Qing Xiao Shu (the Chinese version of Aogeba Tōtoshi) have several variations, as different schools or universities may use different lyrics. The authors have made every effort to ensure that the translations are not only grammatically accurate but also poetically expressive, aiming to provide a meaningful reading experience. Additionally, the article briefly explains the background of the song, including its historical significance as a graduation tradition. The authors hope readers will enjoy the classic Taiwanese graduation song Qing Qing Xiao Shu, adapted from the Japanese song Aogeba Tōtoshi, with translations in Traditional Chinese and English, while incorporating some modifications made by the authors. This publication is part of an academic project by the classmates of Experimental Class 5 at the Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University (HSNU). These classmates studied together at HSNU from 1952 to 1958, and some have since passed away. To honor their past and present friendships, they are publishing their untold stories and poems, sharing the brotherhood that began in childhood (青梅竹馬) with the world. In this publication, the authors: (a) enjoy singing the old Taiwanese graduation song "Qing Qing Xiao Shu" (Green Green Campus Trees) together, (b) reminisce about their graduation from HSNU sixty-seven years ago, (c) discuss minor modifications to enhance the song, and (d) create an AI-assisted oil painting depicting the warm and joyful moments of their graduation day.
