Abstract: The prevalence and mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are rising in developing countries. In Nigeria, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are more prevalent in urban than rural communities. Rural areas, like Emuoha in Rivers State, typically have rich farmlands and nearby waters that encourage physical activity through farming and fishing, potentially supporting a healthy cardiovascular system.
