Abstract: This paper discusses how current lean manufacturing techniques relate to reducing the massive carbon footprint of manufacturing companies. It also discusses how lean principles contribute to sustainability in the business world by reducing various types of waste. This study will also look at the challenges that companies face when trying to implement a waste minimising approach.
