Abstract: The terms matar (rain) and ghayth (beneficial rain) are frequently used in both the Qur'an and the Arabic literary heritage, and there has been significant debate regarding their meanings. This study examines these two terms as they appear in the Qur'an, the Arabic lexicon, and the broader literary tradition. The research is based on a descriptive-analytical approach that reviews and compares their meanings, aiming to derive precise conclusions about their semantic distinctions and usage
