Feasibility Study
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: With the increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions, integrating innovative methods to harness renewable energy within urban infrastructures has become a priority. This study explores the feasibility of generating electricity from grey water in high-rise buildings using various turbine technologies. Grey water, the wastewater from non-toilet sources such as sinks, showers, and washing machines, provides a continuous flow of water that can be harnessed for energy generation. By employing small-scale turbines in the plumbing systems, this untapped resource can contribute to the building's energy demands, reducing reliance on external power sources.
