Trends in publication activity of Belarusian organizations in Scopus in modern geopolitical conditions

Abstract: The article contains the results of monitoring the array of Belarusian publications in the scientometric system Scopus for 2023 to study changes in therepresentation of Belarusian science at the international level. The influence of the geopolitical situation on the publication activity of Belarusian authors in Scopus wasanalyzed. An overview of the capabilities of the free version of the system was provided. Possible reasons for the decrease in quantitative indicators are given. A comparison of the ratings of scientific institutions of Belarus for 2019 and 2023 was carried out. The trend of strengthening the domestic scientific potential is presented,based on the data of the SCImago Journal and Country Rank. The areas of application of bibliometric studies in the Central Science Library of the National Academy ofSciences of Belarus are determined.
