Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) establish a global roadmap for attaining sustainable development. Nevertheless, the inadequate allocation of financial resources is hindering its execution. Financial organizations, such as banks and stock exchanges, have a vital role in correcting these financial imbalances via their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This study aims to analyze the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on financial institutions, namely banks and stock markets, in their provision of financial assistance for the SDGs. This assesses the capacity of these organizations to use CSR to promote the advancement of new resources, strategies, and technologies to achieve the SDGs. The results suggest that incorporating CSR policies in banks may enhance long-term sustainability and efficiency. The article establishes that businesses in the financial sector can substantially contribute to promoting sustainable development and addressing investment shortfalls for the SDGs through implementing strategic CSR practices. It presents key viewpoints on how these firms may adopt and blend sustainability into their commercial operations to contribute to global sustainability objectives.
