Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The study examines stakeholder’s perspective on corporate social responsibility in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, from the perspective of stakeholders. CSR is evaluated across economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic responsibilities, while community development focuses on health, education, livelihood, public utilities, and socio-cultural aspects. Using a convergent parallel design, the study employed a mixed-method approach and surveyed 366 respondents from the two barangays, Libertad and Consuelo. Findings reveal stakeholders' perceptions of CSR implementation: economic responsibility scored 4.38, legal responsibility 4.65, ethical responsibility 4.48, and philanthropic responsibility 4.56. Similarly, the impact on community development received high ratings, with health at 4.50, education at 4.45, livelihood at 4.37, public utilities at 4.49, and socio-cultural at 4.58, all indicating "very satisfactory" results. Significant differences were found in the level of CSR implementation but not in its impact on community development. Additionally, a significant relationship exists between CSR implementation and its impact on community development. These findings highlight the effectiveness of CSR initiatives in positively influencing community development and emphasize the importance of continued stakeholder engagement in shaping CSR strategies for sustainable outcomes.
