The Scientific Production on Educational Tutelary/socio-education Measures: Differences Between Portugal and Brazil

Abstract: The present study aims to identify potential differences between educational tutelary measures and Brazilian socio-educational measures concerning adolescents in conflict with the law, by comparing the documents issued by the National Socio-Educational Service System - SINASE and the Directorate-General for Reintegration and Prison Services - DGRSP. Furthermore, it analyzes the academic production from 2000 to 2021 regarding this subject, with a focus on the Portuguese context. The qualitative methodology employed is a literature review, which made it possible to achieve these objectives. The initial conclusions show that Portuguese scientific production is inferior to Brazilian production on the topic of socio-education. Additionally, a significant presence of works from the field of psychology was identified within this subject, revealing a pathological character associated with adolescents in situations of multiple vulnerabilities.
