Evaluating the Effectiveness and Theoretical Foundations of Peer Teaching in Medical Education
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Peer teaching in medical education is a strategy that embraces active learning and is increasingly utilised across medical schools in the UK; the initiative entails students taking up a teaching role at an early stage of their training. Research conveys that cognitive and social congruence is why peer teaching has proven highly beneficial and successful across many institutions. Hence, student learners are more comfortable in the learning environment and are increasingly likely to ask and answer questions.
