Intelligent Collision Prevention System for Enhanced Road Safety
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: With the increasing number of vehicles on the road, the frequency of accidents is also rising. Many of these accidents occur due to inaccurate estimation of nearby vehicles, driver distractions, or other factors that hinder focus while driving. To prevent such incidents, it is crucial not only to estimate the distance of surrounding vehicles accurately but also to take immediate corrective actions. This project focuses on accident prevention by implementing a system that continuously measures the distance between the driving vehicle and the object ahead. Based on the vehicle's current speed, the system calculates a safe following distance. If the driver fails to maintain this minimum safety distance, the system issues a warning to reduce speed. If the driver does not respond, the system autonomously slows down and stops the vehicle to prevent a potential collision
