Calculation of L-shell Ionisation and X-ray Production Cross-sections for Some Trans-uranium Elements Induced by Protons

Abstract: Using a computational analysis, the study determine the L-shell ionisation cross sections ofNeptunium (Np), Plutonium (Pu) and Americium (Am); obtained the L-subshell X-ray productioncross sections for the trans-uranium targets using a newly written computer code and determined theenergy dependence of L-subshells ionisation and X-ray production cross sections of Np, Pu and Am.This was with a view to determining the targets L-subshells cross sections necessary for quantitativespectroscopic analytical applications.
