Type: article
Abstract: This article delves into the study of elastic structures with viscoelastic boundary conditions, focusing on an elastic thin plate in a bounded domain Ξ© β βΒ² with πΆΒ²-smooth boundary Ξ. The plate is clamped, and memory effects are considered on a subset Ξβ with positive boundary measure. The vertical deflection π¦(π₯, π‘) of this thin elastic plate is governed by a partial differential equation involving wave equations and memory effects. The specific problem can be described by the following equations: π¦π‘π‘(π₯, π‘) + ΞΒ²π¦(π₯, π‘) = 0, in Ξ© Γ ββΊ, (1.1a) π¦(π₯, π‘) = βπ£π¦(π₯, π‘) = 0, on Ξβ Γ ββΊ, (1.1b) β¬βπ¦(π₯, π‘) β β«ββΊβ πβ²(π ) βπ£[π¦(π₯, π‘) β π¦(π₯, π‘ β π )]dπ = 0, on Ξβ Γ ββΊ, (1.1c) β¬βπ¦(π₯, π‘) + β«ββΊβ πβ²(π )[π¦(π₯, π‘) β π¦(π₯, π‘ β π )]dπ = π’(π₯, π‘), on Ξβ Γ ββΊ, (1.1d) π¦(π₯, 0βΊ) = π¦β(π₯), π¦π‘(π₯, 0βΊ) = π¦β(π₯), (1.1e) π¦(π₯, βπ ) = π(π₯, π‘), for 0 < π < β. (1.1f) This study explores the interplay between elastic structures and viscoelastic boundary conditions, examining the behavior of the thin plate under these specified conditions.
