Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming agriculture through digital agriculture or smart farming, enhancing productivity and efficiency. Integrating AI with agricultural practices, we can increase crop yields and address global food challenges. This systematic review synthesizes the latest trends in AI research for smart farming, highlighting recent technological advancement of the fourth industrial revolution and applications. Furthermore, we discussed the positive and the negative aspects of AI in agriculture farming systems, providing a comprehensive overview of its role in shaping the future of agriculture.
