Abstract: The influence of social media on young people has become a central topic in contemporary discussions about digital culture and its effects on society. Social media platforms provide a space for young individuals to connect, share, and express themselves, leading to significant changes in communication patterns, self-perception, and social interactions. This paper explores the positive and negative impacts of social media on youth, emphasizing the potential for fostering creativity, providing educational opportunities, and building communities, while also addressing concerns related to mental health, cyberbullying, and the pressures of online personas. The study examines how social media shapes the identities and behaviors of young people, influencing their social dynamics, relationships, and sense of self. Ultimately, the paper aims to provide a balanced perspective on the role of social media in the lives of young people and offers insights for parents, educators, and policymakers to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital age.
