Developing Autonomous Learning Skills in Primary School Foreign Language Learners
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: In an increasingly interconnected world, the ability to speak in multiple languages is more important than ever. In primary school learners, developing foreign language skills not only enhances cognitive abilities but also fosters cultural awareness and personal growth. One of the most effective ways to ensure long- term success in language acquisition is to cultivate autonomous learning skills. This article explores the importance of autonomy in language learning and provides practical strategies for educators to implement in the classroom. Autonomous learning refers to the ability of students to take charge of their own learning processes. In the context of foreign language education, this means that learners can set their own goals, select appropriate resources, and evaluate their progress independently.
