Abstract: This article explores the implementation of a competency-based approach in early childhood education, emphasizing its importance in the holistic development of preschool-aged children. The paper highlights core competencies such as linguistic, cognitive, social-emotional, and creative skills, and outlines practical strategies for fostering them through play-based and interactive learning. It also examines the critical role of educators in creating supportive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environments that promote independent thinking and lifelong learning skills. The competency-based approach is presented as essential for preparing children not just for school, but for real-life challenges in an evolving world.
