Abstract: In the context of the need for correct understanding of the possibilities of representing properties of scientific documents by their citations, Russian-languageworks on scientometric classifications of citations, the first of which appeared at the dawn of this kind of research, were considered. Russian-language works havepronounced peculiarities and deserve special attention.
