Abstract: Hospitality is one of the most important qualities of Tamil society. They welcomed newcomers who came to their home with joy, offered them hospitality, and provided them with food and a place to stay. Taking care of guests was considered an important duty in the household. Therefore, even in poverty, they were willing to entertain guests who came to their home. Not only the people but also the kings excelled in hospitality. The purpose of this article is to examine the prevalence of this hospitality among the people through the Thirukkural.
