Abstract: This thesis presents a critical and analytical study of the multifaceted poetry of Dr. Shozab Kazmi, a renowned figure in Urdu literature. It focuses particularly on his contributions to Islamic and literary genres such as salām, nauḥa, qaṣīda, manqabat, and other devotional forms. The research explores various critical dimensions of Dr. Shozab Kazmi’s poetry, including the depiction of the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), the tragedy of Karbala, themes of devotion and love, intellectual depth, and artistic excellence. The study highlights the elegance of his language, the harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, and the spiritual and intellectual impact reflected in his poetic expression. This academic work was completed as part of the MPhil Urdu program at the Department of Urdu, Institute of Southern Punjab, Multan, during the years 2021 to 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad. This thesis serves as a valuable resource for researchers, poets, and literature enthusiasts interested in modern Urdu elegiac poetry, devotional literature, and the evolution of poetic expression in praise of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). یہ مقالہ اردو ادب کی معروف شخصیت ڈاکٹر شوذب کاظمی کی ہمہ جہت شاعری کا تحقیقی و تنقیدی مطالعہ پیش کرتا ہے، جس میں ان کے لکھے گئے سلام، نوحے، قصائد، منقبت اور دیگر اسلامی و ادبی اصناف کو خاص طور پر زیرِ بحث لایا گیا ہے۔ مقالے میں ڈاکٹر شوذب کاظمی کی شاعری میں شانِ اہلِ بیتؑ، کربلا کے المیہ، عقیدت و محبت، فکری شعور اور فنی مہارت کو مختلف تنقیدی زاویوں سے پرکھا گیا ہے۔ ان کے کلام میں پائی جانے والی زبان و بیان کی چمک، روایت و جدت کا حسین امتزاج، اور فکری و روحانی اثرات کو مدلل انداز میں واضح کیا گیا ہے۔ یہ تحقیقی کام انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف سدرن پنجاب، ملتان کے شعبۂ اردو سے 2021 تا 2023 کے دوران ایم فل اردو کی سطح پر مکمل کیا گیا، جس کی نگرانی ڈاکٹر امتیاز احمد نے کی۔ یہ مقالہ ان محققین، شعرا، اور ادب دوست قارئین کے لیے اہم ماخذ ثابت ہو سکتا ہے جو جدید اردو مرثیہ، نوحہ، اور عقیدت نگاری کے میدان میں تحقیق کے خواہاں ہیں، نیز اہل بیت اطہار علیہم السلام کی مدح میں اردو شاعری کے ارتقائی پہلوؤں کو سمجھنے کے متمنی ہیں۔
