Current state and development prospects of foreign investments in Ukraine during the war

Abstract: The subject of the study is the theoretical and methodical foundations of foreign investment in Ukraine.The purpose of the study is to investigate the state of foreign investment during the war in Ukraine and to develop investment directions for the post–war reconstruction of the state.Research methods. When writing the article, general scientific and special research methods of economic phenomena and processes related to foreign investment in Ukraine were used.Work results. It was found that the attraction of foreign investments is one of the most important aspects of the economic stability of the state. It has been proven that despite the war, Ukraine continues to attract investments, but their volumes are decreasing. The challenges faced by foreign investors are summarized, including: security of doing business, logistical problems, instability of domestic legislation, capital outflow, damage to production facilities and infrastructure of domestic enterprises. Sectors of Ukraine,s economy with potential for foreign investment have been identified, including: energy; infrastructure, agro–industrial complex, IT sector, production. The directions of investment in the economy of Ukraine by industry sector for the period 2022–2024 are summarized. Possible directions for attracting foreign investments after the end of the war have been determined, which can be aimed at: reconstruction and reconstruction of the state, restoration of energy security, agrarian sector, IT sector. Prospective sectors of the economy for post–war investment in Ukraine are summarized, including: agricultural sector, construction, transport and logistics, processing industry, wholesale and retail trade, HoReCa, medicine and social assistance, IT and telecommunications, electricity and heat supply.Field of application of results. Enterprise economy, national economy.Conclusions. Foreign investment is one of the promising directions of the post–war recovery of Ukraine,s industry. Despite significant challenges, Ukraine has great potential for attracting foreign investment.
