LusTra (Ludique Smart Trash) : Towards an intelligent trash management system
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The LusTra project aims to raise children's awareness to recycling. The goal is to create smart trash bins for elementary schools. These trash bins would give a feedback, and encourage the children to adopt a responsible recycling behavior. A trash bin is able to detect PET bottles while a second will check the aluminium cans. This original research and development project, is a common work between one team at HE-ARC (Neuchâtel) and one team at HEPIA (Geneva). This project was made possible through the funding granted by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Western Switzerland (HES-SO).
