Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article explores the phenomenon of linguistic lacunae in the English language, with a specific focus on the inability of English to fully express certain emotions and interpersonal relationships. Drawing on comparative linguistic analysis and cross-cultural studies, the article demonstrates how these lexical gaps reflect cultural values and linguistic structures. The study concludes that recognizing and addressing these lacunae is essential for effective cross-cultural communication and translation.
