Abstract: This article explores the theoretical foundations and practical benefits of storytelling in enhancing young learners' reading skills. It highlights the role of storytelling in fostering cognitive engagement, vocabulary enrichment, and comprehension skills. The study draws on Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, Piaget’s cognitive development stages, and Krashen’s affective filter hypothesis to illustrate how storytelling supports language acquisition and literacy. The findings suggest that integrating storytelling into primary education significantly improves students' reading abilities and fosters a lifelong love for reading.
