Investigating How Climate Change Fuels Antibiotic Resistance and Developing Integrative Strategies to Curb the Rise of Superbugs
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Climate change has emerged as a potent accelerant of antibiotic resistance, compounding global health risks. Rising temperatures, shifting precipitation patterns, and increased extreme weather events promote the spread of antibiotic-resistant genes in pathogens. This paper investigates the ecological and molecular dynamics linking climate variability to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and proposes integrative mitigation strategies. Through environmental, clinical, and policy-oriented lenses, it evaluates surveillance, stewardship, and innovative biotech-based interventions. Drawing on historical trends and emerging evidence, this study emphasizes the urgent need for cross-sectoral action to address the dual crises of climate change and AMR.
