Abstract: Migration, both internal and external, has been a significant socio-economic phenomenon in Karnataka, influencing various aspects of the state’s economy and society. This study explores the socio-economic impacts of migration in Karnataka, with a focus on the shifts in employment patterns, income levels, regional development, and the implications for public services such as healthcare and education. The research draws on migration data from recent census surveys, district-level reports, and secondary literature to understand the consequences of migration for both migrants and the host regions. The findings highlight the benefits and challenges migration presents to the socio-economic fabric of Karnataka.
