Abstract: Through the activities carried out within the Basilica Iulia Project, the poster illustrates the protocol for the reusability of legacy data in archaeology developed as part of the CHANGES Project. Specifically, the protocol includes: 1) the digitization of archival documents; 2) the critical analysis of legacy data in terms of the representativeness of information and the compatibility between different documentation systems and investigation methods; 3) the accessibility of the original dataset and the transparency of the interpretative process; 4) the implementation of new investigations and surveys for the development of a digital twin of the Basilica Iulia and its virtual reconstruction; 5) the transformation of the model into a 3D repository for archiving both old and new data, ensuring transparency of the reconstruction process.
