Dynamic Model Validation of a Novel Rotatory Fresnel Collector
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: ASTEP (Application of Solar Thermal Energy to Processes) is a European project aimed at developing a low-cost solution for solar heat applied to industrial processes (SHIP). The ASTEP system includes a novel rotatory Fresnel known as “SunDial”. There are two alternatives for the SunDial: one designed for high latitudes with two tracking axes (SunDial-HL), and the other for low latitudes with only azimuthal tracking (SunDial-LL). The objective of this study is to validate the dynamic model of the SunDial and test the control strategy design for ASTEP using the results obtained from the experimental installation being built in Madrid.
