Type: article
Abstract: This study delved into the experiences, coping mechanisms used, and educational insights learned by Grade 2 teachers in strengthening the parent-teacher association in rural school settings. A qualitative approach to research phenomenological experiences of the Eight (8) Grade 2 Teachers in a rural school setting from Banaybanay District, Division of Davao Oriental. Experiences in forging partnerships with parents were observed as empowered parents as learning partners, engaged parents in decision-making, and involved parents in school activities. On the other hand, the coping mechanisms used to address the challenges were establishing parent support networks, building trust through regular feedback, and cultivating strong communication channels. Finally, the educational insights learned from teachers' experiences were that the teachers acknowledged the importance of celebrating parent contributions, empowering parents as learning partners, and building trust through consistency. These were significant in addressing the individual needs of students with learning disabilities. These themes led to teachers' ability to establish meaningful connections with parents. It navigated the specific dynamics of rural school environments that can contribute to developing targeted strategies geared towards fostering partnerships with parents that positively impact students’ educational experiences. This study may also be published in any respectable research journal.
