Abandoning Agriculture Leads to War: The Structural Law of False Demand from Antiquity to the Modern Era

Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This paper presents a historical and mathematical investigation into the structural relationship between agricultural decline and the rise of war. It argues that societies abandoning their agricultural base lose not only food self-sufficiency but also a stabilizing socio-economic field that anchors real demand. Drawing from physics, particularly gauge field theory, the paper models social unrest as a potential field that intensifies as agricultural populations decrease. Conflict becomes structurally necessary when real production is replaced by artificial, fear-based demand. The paper proposes an alternative framework—PBMT (Production-Backed Monetary Theory)—which restores monetary legitimacy by tying currency issuance to essential production, especially in agriculture. By reinterpreting civilization’s trajectory through both historical causality and field-theoretic formulation, the work offers a new perspective on why abandoning agriculture inevitably leads to war, and how future societies might break this cycle through real-demand economics.
