EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF SAFFRON EXTRACT (Сrocus sativus L. İridaceae) ON PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF RAT'S OFFSPRING

Abstract: Our aim was to investigate the effect of saffron extract (Сrocus sativus L. İridaceae) the postnatal development and dynamics of body weight of offspring in female rats. The findings indicated that the per os administration of alcoholic extract of saffron at a dose 120 mg/kg female-rats prior to pairing with the intact males exerted positive effects on their general condition and attitude to their offspring. There was also an increase in body weight and developed more quickly physical activity of pups from rats receiving the saffron extract prior to pairing with the intact males.
