GREAT Theory: Gravitational Redshift from Evolving Asymmetric Topology

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper introduces the GREAT Theory (Gravitational Redshift from Evolving Asymmetric Topology), a novel cosmological model that reinterprets the observed cosmic redshift not as evidence of an expanding universe, but as the cumulative effect of gravitational redshift through an evolving, non-uniform, and asymmetric gravitational topology. Grounded in general relativity, this theory proposes that light traveling across vast cosmological distances is gradually redshifted as it traverses complex, rotating, and changing gravitational fields—created by galaxies, filaments, dust, and matter concentrations whose gravitational influence accumulates asymmetrically over time. Unlike traditional interpretations which rely on dark energy and cosmic expansion, the GREAT Theory posits that redshift is entropic and directional due to real-world asymmetries in the gravitational environment of the universe. This approach offers a possible resolution to several outstanding astrophysical puzzles, including anomalous galactic ages, without requiring new hypothetical forces or particles. This work introduces the conceptual basis, mathematical framework, and testable predictions of the GREAT Theory and proposes paths for future simulation using cosmic structure data. Appendices include derived equations and diagrams illustrating the redshift process across evolving gravitational wells.
