Type: article
Abstract: This article examines Hannibal Barca, the Carthaginian general widely regarded as one of history’s most brilliant military commanders. Focusing on his innovative strategies, psychological warfare, and tactical genius, the article highlights Hannibal’s near-defeat of Rome during the Second Punic War. Hannibal’s victories, such as the Battle of Cannae and his famous crossing of the Alps, forced Rome to reconsider its military strategies, ultimately shaping the future of the Roman Empire. Despite his eventual defeat at the Battle of Zama, Hannibal’s legacy endures, influencing military leaders and strategists throughout history. His ability to adapt, exploit weaknesses, and maintain high morale among his troops is a testament to his lasting impact on military thought and practice.
