Navigating the Double Standard: How Gender Bias and Leadership Stereotypes Hinder Female Career Advancement in Corporate America
Year: 2025
Type: dissertation
Abstract: Leadership styles in Corporate America play an impactful role in shaping organizational success and career advancement. Yet, perceptions of male and female leadership styles significantly differ, hindering women’s career advancement in the workforce and leading to a lack of females within leadership. Women remain underrepresented in executive positions due to systematic barriers, gender biases, and structural limitations that impact leadership effectiveness, opportunities for female career progression, and access to executive positions. This research analyzes LinkedIn posts to better understand how gendered leadership is framed in a public, professional setting, identifying tone, language, themes, and patterns.
