Abstract: The distribution of American plaice extends along the Atlantic coast of North America, primarily in the Gulf of Maine and Georges Bank. Ocean properties in the Gulf of Maine are highly influenced by the Labrador current, which flows in a general northeast to southwest direction into the Gulf of Maine region (Nye et al. 2010; Brickman et al. 2021).
