Abstract: The life and work of Jacinto Convit are an invaluable treasure for the history of science and humanity. There are numerous investigations, scientific articles and bibliographies that detail his career and his multiple contributions to the field of medicine. In this article, we will focus on three of his most significant contributions, which marked a before and after in the treatment of infectious and oncological diseases: the development of the vaccine against leprosy, his pioneering research into leishmaniasis and his explorations into immunotherapy against breast cancer. Through these milestones, we will explore how Jacinto Convit's personal and professional life intertwined with his discoveries, and how his tireless search for solutions to public health impacted the lives of millions of people around the world.
