Formulation and Evaluation of Topical Ethosomal Gel Containing Bifonazole for Transdermal Drug Delivery
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Bifonazole ethosomal gel was prepared by phospholipid (soya lecithin), ethanol and propylene glycol using hot method by incorporating ethosomal formulation into 1% w/v of carbopol gel which leads to ethosomal gel. Drug compatibility with excipients was checked by FT-IR and DSC studies. The prepared ethosomal gel was evaluated for pH, spreadability, viscosity, Drug entrapment efficacy and in-vitro drug release. Stability study of the formulation was done at room temperaturefor the period of 3 months. Drug-polymer compatibility studies showed no incompatibility between the drug and phospholipid. The F8 formulation showed more entrapment efficacy and highest in vitro drug release.
