Multivariate Geophysical Stressors: Influence of Oceanic Masses, Solar Declination, and Lunar Phases on Seismic Activity in the Philippines and Projections on Global Melting Dynamics
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This study explores the combined impact of oceanic mass, solar declination, and lunar phases on seismic activity, with a particular focus on the tectonically active region of the Philippines. Utilizing Monte Carlo simulations, historical seismic data, and geophysical models, the paper provides a comprehensive analysis of how these stressors influence earthquake risk. Additionally, the research projects the future impact of global ice melt and rising oceanic mass on tectonic stress, offering insights into how climate change may exacerbate seismic risks in subduction zones. The appendix further explores the potential of green hydrogen production via water electrolysis as a global energy solution, detailing its environmental and economic benefits in reducing CO₂ emissions and controlling sea level rise.
