Abstract: Polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, M-protein and skin changes syndrome (POEMS) is a rare paraneoplastic syndrome, associated with plasma cell dyscrasia. POEMS involves several clinical signs and symptoms with varying presentation. The first and most prominent of them is the subacute painful sensory and motor polyneuropathy. The diagnosis is based on Dispenzieri criteria (2017). Differential diagnosis involves chronic demyelinating polyneuropathy, amyloidosis, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, chronic hepatitis, Humman Immunodeficiency Virus and other paraneoplastic syndromes. The treatment is interdisciplinary.
