Abstract: Human resources, or more formally, human assets, are an organization's largest expense for most hospitality organizations. In hotels, payroll is usually the biggest expense driver, second only to material costs in bars and restaurants. Furthermore, the human resources department of a corporation is usually the first point of contact for customers. The effective management of these human resources is therefore essential to the enterprise's success.
