Abstract: Children’s literature holds a special place within the literary works of M. A. Sabir. His writings for children include moralistic verse narratives, poems promoting scientific and educational themes, as well as fables. In these works, Sabir endeavors to artistically convey pedagogical and ethical ideas, a reflection of his close connection with the world of children and his background as an educator. Through his educational poetry and şərqilər (traditional poems), the poet emphasizes moral guidance and the development of young minds, instilling a love for learning and knowledge. This theme is prominently displayed in poems such as “School Ode,” “Encouragement for School,” “Encouragement for Science,” “A Gift to Schoolchildren,” and “The Child and the Ice,” where his dedication to the moral and educational upbringing of the younger generation shines. Sabir also composed fables that impart moral and ethical lessons to young readers. Grounded in real-life experiences, these fables resonate with children, nurturing a love for hard work, honesty, and kindness. Through these stories, Sabir encourages youth to speak truthfully and cultivate disdain for injustice, arrogance, and unwarranted pride. The present article analyzes the themes and content of M. A. Sabir's fables from a literary and moral perspective.
