Myrcia acuminatissima Hieronymus 1895
Year: 2024
Type: other
Abstract: 3.38. Myrcia acuminatissima Hieronymus (1895: 64), nom. nud. Type:—non existent. An analysis of Hieronymus (1895) shows that the author did not describe Myrcia acuminatissima. Instead, the author only compares Myrcia frontinensis Hieronymus (1895: 63) (= Myrcia paivae O. Berg 1857 –1859: 179) with Myrcia acuminatissima O. Berg (1857 –1859: 167) (= Myrcia racemosa (O.Berg) Kiaerskou [1893: 72]). Myrcia acuminatissima Hieron. was first mentioned in Index Kewensis (Durand & Jackson 1906), possibly in error, as in the case of the two Myrica species (Myricaceae) described above. For this reason, it is considered a nomen nudum.
