Abstract: Summary. The ECtHR has extensive jurisprudence on issues regarding equality and non-discrimination, which includes ensuring gender equality and excluding discriminatory practices.Through judicial precedents in the field of discrimination, the ECtHR jurisprudence provides relevant practical aspects, oferring practitioners the possibility to invoke, where appropriate, the instruments of non-discrimination and the pertinent jurisprudence before national courts and authorities.In this sense, we note the potential for strengthening protection and excluding discriminatorypractices through the application of comparative strategies and the method of solving cases regardinggender equality. Thus, effective legal solutions in relation to a form of discrimination can be appliedto combat other forms of discrimination, being of great value in establishing judicial precedents.Key words: the ECtHR, non-discrimination, gender, equality, value, precedents.
