Effects of Hypnosis and Post-Hypnotic Suggestions on the Execution of Ballistic Movements in Combat Sport Athletes

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This experimental study investigated the effects of hypnosis and post-hypnotic suggestions (PHS) on the execution of ballistic movements in athletes from combat sports. Thirty athletes were randomly assigned to two groups: experimental (hypnosis + PHS) and control (guided relaxation). Velocity, accuracy, and muscle activation (EMG) were assessed during the execution of rapid movements, as well as psychological indicators of focus and flow. Results showed significant improvements in the experimental group compared to the control, suggesting that hypnosis with PHS can enhance motor performance non-invasively.
