Abstract: This article analyzes the role of metaphor in the history of philosophical and scientific research, as well as its development process. The study of metaphor not only helps understand the logical and linguistic foundations but also the interconnection between human cognition, language, and imagination. Furthermore, the article highlights the scientific debates conducted by scholars about metaphor and the changes in their approaches. The philosophical essence of metaphor and its place in the context of scientific research are presented, which enables a deeper understanding of it.
