Population Dynamics, Migration, and Health: A Global Perspective

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper explores the interplay between population dynamics, migration, and global health, emphasizing the challenges and opportunities arising from demographic shifts and human mobility. It examines three population types—stable, expansive, and contractive— highlighting case studies such as Japan’s aging crisis, Nigeria’s youth bulge, and Germany’s labor shortages. The study analyzes drivers of migration, including economic, political, environmental, and technological factors, and their health impacts, such as infectious diseases in refugee camps and mental health disparities among displaced populations. Post-pandemic trends, climate-induced displacement, and systemic healthcare barriers are discussed, alongside policy responses like inclusive healthcare access and climate migration frameworks. Projections underscore the urgency of addressing demographic imbalances and climate migration, which threaten to displace millions by 2050. The paper concludes by advocating for ethical, evidence-based policies to transform migration into a catalyst for global resilience, prioritizing equity, labor rights, and mental health integration.
