The production of the tactile books for visually impaired children: from the experience of the Department of Library and Information Activities of the Smolensk State Institute of Arts

Abstract: The article examines the importance and functions of tactile books intended for children with disabilities. Tactile books ("Fashionable Caterpillar" and others) prepared by teachers and students of the Department of Library and Information Activities of the Smolensk State Institute of Arts are presented. The experience of cooperation between the department and the Smolensk Regional Library for the Blind and the Krasninskaya Secondary Boarding School for Students with Disabilities of the Smolensk Region is disclosed.
